Sir, - A member of my family recently became temporarily disabled, having a plaster cast from the right hip to ankle. Needing to go to Dublin, he decided that the easiest way to travel was by Aer Lingus from Kerry Airport - a 30-minute flight.Aer Lingus would allow him to travel only if he had an extra seat, for which he would have to pay double fare - £140. He pointed out that if he had an aisle seat his leg could be placed parallel to the aisle and so would not cause any obstruction. No joy. Would Aer Lingus subsidise the extra seat? No.He eventually travelled by good old Iarnroid Eireann and its staff were most accommodating.Aer Lingus the friendly airline? They must be joking! - Yours, etc.,M. T. COLLINS,Glenbeigh,Co Kerry.
