Sir, - Terry O'Regan of Landscape Alliance Ireland (September 2nd) detailed areas where access has been denied to members of the public. Unfortunately, there are many more examples from all around the country of access to our countryside being denied by illegal fences, closed-off rights of war, intimidatory signs and even threats of physical violence.
Keep Ireland Open is about to engage in an extensive lobbying campaign of Government Ministers and we are anxious to hear from readers who have encountered access problems.
Finally, I support Mr O'Regan's contention that denial of access to our natural heritage is probably unconstitutional. - Yours, etc.,
Keep Ireland Open, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
