Sir, In reply to G. B. G. McConnell's remarkable letter of July 30th, John Waters (July 23rd) was absolutely right in describing Northern Ireland as a sectarian statelet. I know. I lived there from 1921 until 1937.
Mr McConnell is right in claiming that there are ordinary, decent unionists who only want to see real peace and justice. There are plenty of them, but they keep their heads well below the parapet for reasons of health. - Yours, etc.,
