Madam, - It made me quite angry to read the letters from Gary Morrissey and Paddy Mettler (July 16th) about tents, sleeping bags and chairs supposedly abandoned by the wonderful young people who attended last weekend's Oxegen festival.
Some 80,000 music lovers walked away from this rubbish because they were asked to. Tangerene Fields and Scouting Ireland promised that they would wash and donate the equipment to Focus Ireland, the Simon Community and the homeless.
A little respect is due both to the young people willing to donate their goods and those willing to donate their services in the big clean-up. We should be saying: "Well done". - Yours, etc,
