Sir, - In an Ireland far removed from imperialism and the Raj, can we in future be spared one anachronism: this is the spectacle of every exit and entry at Dublin Airport by our President being marked by the ceremonial presence of a detachment of able-bodied Army personnel. Those worthy soldiers, have surely more to do than to stage this dated pantomime. In that apt Ulster phrase it is now time to "catch ourselves on". - Yours etc., Frank Caffrey,
Edenderry,
Co Offaly.
