A chara, - Maire O Donnabhain (October 9th) describes me as one of Dick Spring's "present supporters". I wish to state that I have never been a supporter of Mr Spring and have no intention of being one of his supporters in the future.
During his tenure as Minister for Foreign Affairs, I was an outspoken critic of Mr Spring and his Rainbow colleagues, particularly because they drew Ireland closer to the nuclear-based military alliances of NATO and the WEU.
In the Presidential election, I am supporting Adi Roche. Adi's 20-year record on campaigning for peace, disarmament, human rights and social justice, and her marvellous work for the children of Chernobyl, makes her by far the best candidate from a Green point of view.
