Sir, – I very much enjoyed Frank McNally’s Irishman’s Diary (November 15th) . I couldn’t help but pick my own “Things I love about Dublin”.
46. Strolling along Clontarf promenade with my daughter, watching the Brent Geese land in the water. 47. Hanging out in Temple Bar in the daytime before all the revellers arrive . 48. Finding a free bench in Stephen’s Green at lunchtime, and eating a chicken sambo. 49. Swimming on my back at Seapoint, watching the DART whizz past. 50. Grafton Street buskers. 51. Watching the ferries from the South Wall. 52. The buzz in town before a home Six Nations game – particularly the French one . – Yours, etc,
A chara, – Perhaps The Irish Times should sponsor a safari holiday for Frank McNally over O’Connell Bridge and up in to the northside of Dublin. His Irishman’s Diary (November 15th) details his likes and dislikes of Dublin, 95 per cent of which is of southside experiences. Does anyone from the Northside work at The Irish Times? – Yours, etc,
