Sir, - It is with great disgust that I am writing to you about the state of the toilets in Busaras. On Saturday, July 19th, 1997, I travelled from Letterkenny to Dublin. On using the toilets in Busaras I found the following: urine on the floors; toilets blocked and not flushing; toilet paper strewn all over the floor; graffiti on the walls; locks broken; sanitary bins overflowing.
The toilets are a disgrace to Busaras, to Bus Eireann and to Ireland. Considering the number of travellers, both domestic and international, who pass through Busaras every day, it is unbelievable that they could be left in such a filthy mess. Having travelled abroad both in Europe and the USA, I have never seen public facilities in such a bad state.
Is it too much to ask that toilets should be kept in a reasonable condition? - Yours, etc.,
