Sir, - As a commuting driver, I find Frank McDonald's article of January 5th presumptuous. Every day I have to spend between two and three hours in traffic merely to get from Naas, where I live (due to the city's exorbitant property prices) into Dublin where I work, and back again. I cannot rely on the bus services to get me to work on time as they have to contend with the same volume of traffic but do not have the option of altering their routes. And he tells me that I love it. Dream on, Mr McDonald. Road rage is not a consequence of devotion to the inner sanctity of one's motor car. It is the product of increasing frustration at being cooped up in a confined space day after day and seemingly going nowhere. This is a waste of one's time, money and most of all, life. - Yours etc.,
Amelia Raben,
Craddockstown Park, Naas, Co Kildare.
