Sir, - Last Friday morning I travelled on CIE's Eurostar from Dublin to Rosslare. Apart from the fact that the windows were absolutely filthy (do they ever get cleaned?), thus depriving me of the one good thing about going to Rosslare by train (the beautiful scenery), there was no heating on that morning. When asked about this, the ticket inspector replied that the heating was on a thermostat and that it was not quite cold enough for it to come on. The temperature was approximately four degrees and, after a frosty night, all the carriages were freezing.
How much longer will we have to put up with this kind of pathetic, prehistoric excuse for a public transport "service"? - Yours, etc.,
A. Reilly, Ringsend, Dublin 4.
