Sir, - Rick Tocci (August 2nd) says that "in last year's elections, the Republicans were voted into control of not only the executive branch (George W. Bush), but both parts of the legislative branch."
He also claims: "The people of the United States, through its elected leaders, are rejecting treaties and protocols that threaten the best interests of its citizens."
This is what I remember. Last year Al Gore outpolled George Bush by 550,000 votes. Unfortunately, five Republicans on the Supreme Court decided to install G.W. in power anyway. Therefore Bush wasn't "voted" into anything and the man in the White House wasn't "elected". That's over in these United States. Maybe Rick is talking about a different United States. I have to think so. - Yours, etc.,
