Vaccination 'challenges'

Madam, - You report that the HSE faces various "challenges" in delivering the HPV vaccine to 30,000 schoolgirls annually (HEALTHplus, February 16th).

Thirty thousand schoolgirls divided by over 2,000 GPs equals fewer than 15 schoolgirls per GP per annum. These would be the same GPs who efficiently administer 11 vaccines to each of our infants in their first year of life.

Could someone in the HSE explain where exactly the problem lies? Certainly not with the GPs. - Yours, etc,
