Madam, - Michael Dervan mentioned various milestones of Veronica Dunne's career in his review (August 4th) of the recent 80th-birthday tribute concert at the National Concert Hall.
One of her other great services to an Irish composer was when, in 1954, she memorably sang the wordless soprano line in Hamilton Harty's Children of Lir with the then RESO under Milan Horvat. Luckily, the recording of the concert survives in the RTÉ Radio Archives. - Yours, etc,
