Madam, - A brutal assault is committed by more than one person on a fellow human being, who dies as a result of his injuries. The assault is perpetrated in front of large group of witnesses who apparently suffer from collective amnesia and cannot identify the perpetrators.
I'm referring to Belfast? Well no, actually this assault took place outside a Dublin night-club. Perhaps our two cultures are closer than we realised? Shame to all who witnessed these incidents and who apparently lack the moral fibre to take a stand for what is morally right for our communities. - Yours, etc.,

Madam, - Robert McCartney and Brian Murphy; two young men brutally assaulted and left to die on the side of the street. Despite innumerable witnesses, a conspiracy of silence prevents their killers being brought to justice.
Robert McCartney's relatives know that as long as this silence is enforced by IRA threats and bullying, his killers will remain free. Brian Murphy's killers will remain free as long as they and their peers fail to realise that their silence is an evil equal to, if not greater than, any IRA intimidation. - Yours, etc.,
