Madam, - With regard to Eileen Battersby's article on World Heritage Sites (November 1St.), may I make the point that the Rock of Cashel is not the most visited heritage site in Ireland? The most visited site is in fact Glendalough.

Unfortunately, official figures for Glendalough are for numbers visiting the Glendalough Visitor Centre and not the site. Only about 10 per cent of visitors to the valley enter the Visitor Centre.

It has been estimated that there are 1 million visitors to the built and natural heritage site of Glendalough each year, making it the most visited heritage site in Ireland. - Yours, etc.,
