Madam, – What is “an ask”, and from where has it come? The noun, I mean. An ask, is it masculine or feminine, or perhaps it might even be neuter? Whatever else it is, it always appears large, never small, e.g.“a big ask”, “a huge ask”, “a great ask”. Are there no “miniscule asks”, “little asks”, or even the odd “medium ask“?
Mind you, some of the commentators who have taken to using this term could well be described as a type of “ask”. “A right ask”, “a pure ask”? – Yours, etc,
