Madam, – It was a great article by Eddie Molloy about our society where no one ever “carries the can” for decisions made (Opinion, October 9th). However, his suggested remedies have a major flaw. The people who could change this culture are the very people who should be “carrying the can” for decisons made – our political leaders and senior civil servants. Why would they change this system of impunity when they have so much to answer for? – Yours, etc,
