Where reckless road rage rules

Madam, – Drivers on the N81 are a study in aggression

Madam, – Drivers on the N81 are a study in aggression. This morning (September 8th), in particular, the indecency and disrespectful behaviour of select individual drivers have driven me to denunciation.

A clearly identified learner driver stalled repeatedly at traffic lights, which triggered a tirade of abuse from a driver who himself had recklessly swerved from behind the stationary car into the next lane. With a backdrop of flashing headlights and car horns, another driver went at high-rev speed from the rear to the front of the learner, with dangerous disregard for others’ safety.

Are some people in such a selfish hurry that, in order to reach a destination two minutes quicker, they seek to humiliate and panic others? Aggression is natural; how one channels that aggression is a gauge of intelligence and emotional development. – Yours, etc,
