A chara, - Further to Dermot Clarke's letter about the trees of the Glen of the Downs, I have been awakened. I must wholeheartedly agree with him. I am however, concerned for the vales and trees of the entire county.
It is high time Wicklow County Council took a fresh at the environment. Wicklow is indeed a beautiful place in which to live, and its attractions are heavily marketed to tourists. There is a significant reliance on tourism revenue and the County Council would be better occupied tending the "Garden", rather than permitting its destruction. Is there a lobby group out there? - Yours, etc.,
Roisin McCabe,
Bray, Co Wicklow.
