Sir, - The comments by Mr Martin Glynn, of the Collen Group (June 18th), regarding his company being "perfectly within it's rights" to demolish the wonderful Wiggins Teape building on Dublin's East Wall Road, adding that it "wasn't listed" and was "dangerous", are laughable. How can a building less than 70 years old be described as dangerous? His company, the Collen Group is now responsible for the destruction of yet another landmark 20th century building in this city, and for what. A little bit of money.

The Wiggins Teape factory building had integrity, style, class and dignity. No wonder Mr Glynn and his band of wreckers, sneaking in at 7.30 in the morning with their bulldozers, wanted rid of it. - Yours, etc.,

Ita Kelly, Upper Garville Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin 2.
