Sir, - Soline Vatinel (November 5th) writes about Therese of Lisieux as if there are still no women priests in the Catholic Church. She says: "Only when women are ordained in the Catholic Church will her faithful and loving witness to the truth be honoured as it deserves to be." Surely even Soline Vatinel cannot continue to deny that there are many hundreds of ordained women priests in the worldwide Catholic Church. We here in the Church of Ireland parish of Galway and Kilcummin enjoyed the benefit of a woman priest ministering to us and celebrating the Eucharist during 1995-96. She left last year to take another appointment. As an integral part of the Catholic Church, the Church of Ireland has been ordaining women priests since 1991. - Yours, etc.,Walter De Lacy,Oughterard,Co Galway.
