Madam, - I feel I must take issue with Michael Parsons (An Irishman's Diary, January 5th) when he suggests that few if any people "know all the words to any song".
Well, I'll have him know that I am familiar with all the words of at least two songs. I'm also fortunate to be blessed with an exceedingly melodious falsetto voice. Indeed, I regularly entertain my many admirers with flawless renditions of Garth Brooks's country classic I Have Boots With No Laces and the Beatles' immortal Hey Jude.
I was heartened by the fact that just below Mr Parsons's somewhat inaccurate - though, it must be said, very amusing article - there appeared a missive from Dr Una Hunt, who proclaimed that she knew all the words to a host of songs by the great Percy French. So, are you right there Michael? I don't think so! - Yours, etc,
PAUL DELANEY, Beacon Hill, Dalkey, Co Dublin.
