Sir, - I read with interest Peter Pearson's review (Books, June 12th) of Messrs Craigs' Mausolea Hibernica. He rightly gives high praise to the quite extraordinary detail in Michael Craig's remarkable drawings. He goes on to compare them to the illustrations in "an 18th century publication known as Wright's Louthiana".
An even more remarkable book, Wright's Louthiana broke new ground when it was published in 1748. It was the earliest detailed record devoted to the archaeological monuments of a particular locality in Ireland. As our contribution to the millennium, this rare and valuable book is being published later this year by Dundalgan Press, Dundalk, in a deluxe facsimile subscribers' edition limited to 250 copies. - Yours etc. C.
