Sir - Some weeks ago you published letters about the state of the Royal Canal in Dublin. Unfortunately, the vandals of the capital are not the only ones treating the canal as a dump. Between Dublin and Maynooth, debris from work on the railway line alongside the canal is finding its way in ever-increasing quantities into the water. Perhaps Iarnrod Eireann might be able to exert some influence in this matter. - Yours, etc.
