WENDY MCCORMACK STUNT (38)
Life is hectic for mum of three, Wendy McCormack Stunt. A serial entrepreneur, Wendy is always working on launching new businesses ventures, the latest of which is GoDigi Card, an online marketing and branding tool, which is going from strength to strength. She loves hardworking beauty products and treatments that save her time and admits she will only take on the world when she's wearing perfume and high heels.
I'm all about time-saving
Mornings are mental in my house trying to get three kids and myself out the door, so I shower the evening before using Dove Shower Cream, which cleanses and moisturises, so that's two less things to do when I wake up. I also get gel nails and pedicures done every month so I don't have to worry about chipped polish, and I've become a pro at getting my hair in shape in under two minutes. If it's not freshly blow-dried, I spritz in dry shampoo (my lifesaver) and pull it into a braid or French twist, both of which look smart but with minimum fuss.
You need to take care of yourself as a mum
Juggling my kids, home, work and family means my own needs often slip to the end of the priority list, but I feel it is important to take a time out for your self-esteem and self-image. Personal grooming, for me, is an extremely important part of this.
Grooming in the workplace is becoming a lost art
When at work, you're representing yourself or your company, so it is important to be well presented. By that I don't mean a face full of Instagram-style make-up: rather a suit or sharp shirt, groomed nails, tidy hair, wrinkle-free clothing and polished shoes. I see women spending a fortune on accessories, clothes, and cosmetics, yet they forget to look after the basics.
Age is but a number nowadays
I see so many beautiful, amazing women in Ireland today, doing amazing things at all ages, I feel ageing is not going to be a drawback. In fact, it seems 60 is the new 50, and 50 is the new 40 and so on. It's just two arbitrary numbers. At 38, I'm wiser, happier and more carefree than in my twenties and I don't get worked up about silly things anymore.
Makeup should enhance, not camouflage
I think Irish women need to embrace our natural beauty more. There's no need to cake on makeup, or paint your face by numbers with complicated contouring. The older I am, the more confident I've become at stepping out with just moisturiser and mascara. Beauty is in your eyes and smile, that's what people should see – not 3D eyebrows.
I hope to age naturally
If I had the time and money I'd love to go for regular facials, reflexology and body massage but Botox, fillers and surgery are just not for me. I know loads of women who've have procedures, and I've seen some good results, but it's just not my thing.
I love getting glammed up
Big nights out are rare enough these days, especially with a six-month-old but when I've one coming up I start applying Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Gradual Self Tan a few days beforehand, as it gives my skin a gorgeous golden glow. As the colour builds up subtly I don't have to worry about making a mess, or taking time out to do a full fake tan. I also love getting a bouncy blow-dry done, applying a dark smoky eye, and finishing off with a spritz of my favourite fragrance. It's the one beauty product I could not live without.
I've two secret weapons for feeling beautiful
The first is my smile: everyone always says I have a great smile and even if you're feeling rubbish, it's scientifically proven that smiling can turn your mood around (and those you smile at too). The second is high heels. There is just something about a woman in heels, isn't there? It's much harder to take on the world in flats!"
WHAT YOU THINK
The Irish Times conducted a reader survey of 100 women asking their views on a selection of Dove products including Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Gradual Self Tan. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and readers loved how easy and luxurious this product was to use and how it removed the fear of using a tanning product for them.
Here's what some of our respondents had to say:
"A really fab product - It feels rich and oily putting it on, but sinks right in quickly and develops into a lovely, even golden colour. Outranks the more expensive products by miles!"
Linda 58, Meath
"I have very dry skin, and this is a great moisturiser. It was great for softening the pasty look of my skin particularly now in summer. And it's not like a full tan that ruins your bed sheets."
Marie, 36, Dublin
"Using this moisturiser made me feel healthier as I think people look better with a tan. It went on very easily. I like that it comes in fair-to-medium skin, or medium-to-dark skin formulas, so you can go darker or lighter as needed."
Georgina, 31, Kildare
"Results of this were excellent. I'm very fair skinned and don't usually use fake tan because it always looks so false, but this gave a lovely gentle glow."
Caoimhe, 48, Laois
