He has proved an ace commentator on Gaelic games for many a long year on RT╔ Radio. But recently Micheβl ╙ Muircheartaigh proved that he is no mean golfer either. Playing at Westmanstown golf club he proved a real ace with deadly accuracy on the short holes, in particular. On the five par-threes over the Co Dublin golf course, Muircheartaigh amazingly needed just 12 shots. The highlight of the round came when he holed his tee shot at the 12th hole.

That ace went a long way to helping him to just those dozen shots for the five holes. His record over the five par threes read: one four, one par three, two birdies and that hole-in-one at the 12th. And it was not the first hole-in-one of his golfing career. Some time back he achieved that honour at the Grange.
