DONNA ANDREWS took advantage of a triple bogey by Sweden's Annika Sorenstam to win the $500,000 LPGA Circle K Championship in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday. Andrews, who won the tournament in 1994, fired a four under par 68 to finish at a 15 under par 273 to edge out Tina Barrett by a stroke for the $75,000 tops prize.

"I was a little nervous out there," Andrews said. "It has been a long time. I knew I was leading the tournament and I said a little prayer to just stay focused."

Andrews was two strokes ahead of Sorenstam, the third round leader, and American Dale Eggeling in taking her fifth career LPGA title and first win since 1994.

"I'm looking forward to bigger and better things," Andrews said. "I lost some of my sponsorships because I didn't finish in the top 20 on the money list. That made me want to get out there and get top 10 finishes."

Sorenstam pulled ahead by three strokes before a triple bogey on the par four ninth hole. The LPGA's only two time winner this year found water and then three putted to squander her advantage.

"I didn't know what had happened to her because I just saw the totals on the board," said Andrews. "I didn't know she tripled until I got to the 18th. I figured she hit the water. I made bogey on that hole so she only lost two shots to me."

Anna Acker Macosko was a career best fifth at 276, and Chris Johnson took sixth at 278.
