Cork City v Glentoran:A day after club chairman Aubry Ralph described the arrangements for this evening's match as "shambolic", suggested that Glentoran had been "shafted" and called on tournament organisers Milo Corcoran and Michael Hayes to resign, things got worse for the FAI when FORAS, the organisation representing Cork City fans, issued a statement severely criticising the association's over its role in the preparations for the contest.
The supporters' group, which was formed during City's recent financial crisis, said the FAI had many questions to answer, particularly in relation to the lack of effort it had put into ensuring the St Anne's end of the ground would be usable for the game.
The loss of that stand, which was refused a safety certificate this week, means the capacity for tonight's final will be just 4,600 leaving Glentoran with just 1,200 tickets. "I don't want to sound unkind," said Glentoran director Stafford Reynolds yesterday, "but it doesn't appear to have been organised all that well. To have such an important safety meeting on a stand just a couple of days before a game seems remarkable and I can't think of another cup final where the tickets are not divided on a 50-50 basis between the two clubs."
Corcoran could not be contacted yesterday while Hayes did not return a call.
