RACING: Helen Keohane, the apprentice jockey knocked out at Leopardstown on Monday, will remain in St Vincent's Hospital for the next couple of days.

The Co Cork-born rider fell from Mike's Baby on her way to the start, in front of the stands and was temporarily unconscious.

Yesterday the Turf Club medical officer Dr Walter Halley reported: "Her X-rays and scans are all normal but she is showing the typical signs we look for in this kind of post-concussion injury. She will be kept in Vincent's for a couple of days but she is stable."

Keohane, who is apprenticed to trainer Liam Browne, was stood down for 21 days after her fall which came in the aftermath of the serious head injuries sustained by fellow-apprentice Seán Cleary at Galway on Sunday.

Cleary remains "critically ill" in Beaumont Hospital's neuro-surgical department and Halley reported his condition to be "unchanged."
