I have three horses running today, with Native Upmanship the most high profile of them in the SunAlliance Chase. His preparation has gone extremely well and I'll be disappointed if the trip is a problem for him. The ground should be OK too and if he gets a clear run, I'm confident he has a great chance. Alexander Banquet and Lady Cricket for me look the main dangers, but this is a wide-open race, with Gloria Victis opting for the Gold Cup.
I have Phariwarmer in the Coral Cup and although I'm only hoping he will get the trip, on pedigree he should not have any problems with it. It's a very open race but I'll stick with my lad, and with four places, he's a solid each-way bet.
The same comment can apply to Feathered Leader in the Mildmay Of Flete as he has got his ground now, has a nice weight and is in good form. I'm very hopeful he'll at least be in the money.
Flagship Uberalles is only six and has had two very hard races recently, so I'm going for Edredon Bleu in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. He was a very good second last year and on good ground the year before last he won very well around here.
I wouldn't be surprised if Far Cry turned over Monsignor in the SunAlliance Hurdle. Monsignor has been on the go all season. while Far Cry has had just three runs. And don't forget he was a top class flat horse. I also thought he ran a fine race against Relkeel on the track last November.
My son John Daniel rides the half brother to See More Business, Mister One, in the four-miler so I'm obviously hoping for the best there; while I think they all have Inca to beat in the Bumper. He was very impressive in his debut and is sure to have had a good preparation."
