UEAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: GROUP C FC Basel visit Camp Nou tonight knowing what Barcelona are capable of, having lost by five goals when they met in Switzerland a fortnight ago.
Bojan Krkic scored twice while Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Xavi all added to the emphatic scoreline that saw Barça take one further step towards booking their place in the next phase.
Three more points in tonight's encounter and, if Shakhtar Donetsk do not beat Sporting Lisbon, then the Catalan outfit's passage will be confirmed and they can continue to focus on domestic matters.
Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon defender Tonel will be out of action for at least four weeks with a leg injury and will miss the Shakhtar Donetsk match tonight.
GROUP B:After winning their first match at home against Champions League debutants Anorthosis Famagusta two weeks ago, Inter Milan will be looking to seal their qualification from the group with a second victory against the Cypriot side.
Inter's league form has been erratic lately. Last weekend, they interrupted a series of games in which they hadn't conceded goals with a chaotic 3-2 victory away to Reggina.
Playmaker Diego is convinced that Werder Bremen can pick up the pace in Group B as they prepare for their rematch with Panathinaikos FC, with the Brazilian saying he would "bet all my chips" on the German club finishing second in the section. Thomas Schaaf's side have drawn all three of their games but with two home games to come, as well as a trip to face Famagusta, Diego felt optimistic. "FC Internazionale Milano have to be the favourites because of the investment the club has made but I'd bet all my chips on Werder Bremen finishing second," he said.
GROUP A:CFR Cluj go into tonight's home game against Bordeaux in second place on four points after winning 2-1 at Roma and a goalless draw against Chelsea. Roma and Bordeaux, who beat Cluj 1-0 last month, are on three points. "Our aim, which we have established when the competition started, is to finish third in the group and book a place in the Uefa Cup," coach Maurizio Trombetta said.
GROUP D:Marseille face PSV Eindhoven without a point from three matches and with the group heavyweights Liverpool and Atletico Madrid both currently on seven points, third place and qualification for the last 32 of the Uefa Cup also looks to be the best Eric Gerets' men can hope for.
