A PENALTY by John Coady deep into injury time at Whitehall yesterday proved too little, too late for Home Farm/Everton with Dermot Keely's side losing the fight for premier division survival.

Ironically it was the hand of former Home Farm stalwart, Eoin Mullen, that earned the hosts a late reprieve after Bohemians had squandered a two goal lead.

It was symptomatic of Bohemians, with Turlough O'Connor looking dazed and confused afterwards, although referee Tommy Traynor certainly did not help their cause.

In the words of O'Connor, Traynor decided to have a bit of fun towards the end and in particular, the Dublin referee's decision not to discipline Robert Forde after the goalkeeper had floored John Ryan, was a bone of contention with Bohemians.

It had been a different story earlier on when Peter Hanrahan had given his side a lead with a glancing header that crept inside Forde's left hand post after 65 minutes.

The visitors then doubled their lead when Tommy Gaynor converted with a spectacular overhead kick.

But Farm, while down, were certainly not out, and on 80 minutes, central defender Brendan Place headed home from a corner, and then, incredibly, in the 93rd minute, Mullen handled in the penalty area and a composed Coady beat Henderson with a low shot to the right.
