He will be 34 on the 22nd of March this year but Peter Clohessy (above) shows no sign of slowing down. The Young Munster, Munster and Ireland prop returned for Saturday's game following a spell on the sidelines but showed no ill-effects with a typically barnstorming performance. Munster had been exceptionally wellserved in his absence by young Shannon prop Marcus Horan but Clohessy is not ready yet to relinquish either his Munster or Ireland jerseys.

His versatility - the fact that he can scrumagge equally adeptly on either side of the front row - could mean games at loosehead and tighthead during the forthcoming Six Nations Championship. Paul Wallace's lack of first team rugby could persuade the Irish management to ask Clohessy to move to tighthead, a position in which he won a plethora of caps, simply because there is greater strength and quality at loosehead. Whichever position in which he is chosen, Clohessy will offer the same character and commitment.
