Conor Phelan was first to cross the Castleknock line and further tries followed from Peter Brady and Alan Wrafter as Roscrea built up a 17-0 interval lead.

Castleknock College had the strong wind advantage for the second half, but they saw their predicament worsen as Pat McIntyre and hooker John Egan both crossed the line before they opened their account.

Castleknock battled until the and although Roscrea defended well against penetrating runs by Timi Vivour and Colm Finlay, they conceded a try to Finlay moments before the end.
