Bohemians 2 Galway United 0:It has been a bad week for Bohemians on and off the field but last night event's at Dalymount Park went some way to repairing the damage.
Just three points behind fellow Dublin teams, Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic before the start of play, Bohemians made it three wins from three in the league to keep their Uefa Cup hopes alive.
The home side took just five minutes to open up the Galway defence when John Paul Kelly cut in from the left only to be upended inside the box.
Full back Mark Rossiter stepped up but his spot kick was well judged by Gary Rogers who went down to his right to put Rossiter's kick to safety. And then on the quarter hour, the impressive Chris Turner slipped a ball through the middle to give Glen Crowe a clear run on goal. But Rogers held his ground to save with his feet.
Kevin Hunt came on at the break and, having assumed the captain's armband, was instrumental in the second strike on 52 minutes. His incisive ball found Chris Turner unattended on the right and having switched on to his left foot, Turner drove a low shot just inside the post.
And then with seven minutes remaining, Glen Crowe connected first time with Harpal Singh's cross from the left to beat Rogers at the far post.
