AISLING BLAKE will hope to crown what has already been a remarkable season with victory in the under 19 section of the Irish Junior Squash Open in Dublin this weekend.

The 15 year old from Sligo won the under 16 event in the Belgian Junior Open in Brussels last month and has already completed the grand slam of domestic junior provincial titles at under 19 level this season.

Most of those titles were won with ease but, for the first time this year, Blake is only seeded at number two for a junior tournament in Ireland following the entry of New Zealand under 21 champion Louise Crome.

As many as 11 of the boys competing in the under 19 section of the tournament are in contention for the six places available on the Irish team for January's Home Internationals in Wales. However, Galway's John Rooney, Sutton's Brian O'Horn and Neil Pollock of Belfast, are all but guaranteed their places on the team.
