BOHEMIANS RETURN to action in the Setanta Cup this afternoon with the Dubliners heading to Coleraine in search of a win that would put them firmly on course for the competition’s knock out stages.

Pat Fenlon has a strong squad to choose from but is without several of his new signings for a clash with Irish League opposition who took a point away from Dalymount before Christmas.

“We have a couple of little injuries that we won’t risk. Rafaele Cretaro has a little niggle, so has Ken Oman at the back of his knee and Paul Keegan is a bit tight on the hamstring,” said the Bohemians boss.

“Raf and Ken definitely won’t play and I’m not sure about Keego at the moment. The three Derry City lads are cup-tied but everyone else is available.”

Fenlon said on Thursday that retaining the league title would be the club’s priority for the coming year but he is keen to make it out beyond the group stage in the all Ireland competition.

“I am not overly concerned about winning it,” he said, “but we would like to be in the semi-final, that’s the certain. It’ll be tough, though. I’ve watched Coleraine twice recently and they are on a great run. They went to Windsor last week and won 4-2 and they won 1-0 at Cliftonville the other night. They are both good places to go and win matches.

“I think we are in for a different game than the one we had at Dalymount at the end of our season. It’s good for us as it will be competitive and it’s what we need going into the game (against Sporting Fingal) next week.

Sligo Rovers are also in action this evening with Cliftonville, currently close behind Linfield at the top of the Irish league table, heading to the Showgrounds. The home side have close to a full squad to choose from with just Iarflaith Davoren and Gary McCabe missing through injury.
