Dazzling Park, the Jim Bolger-trained runner in the Group One Hong Kong Cup on Sunday, looked on very good terms with herself at Sha Tin yesterday.

The Matron Stakes winner, a weekend arrival, stretched her legs by covering two laps of the all weather circuit under work rider John Hayes.

"We only did two circuits just to loosen her up. She is in good form and she will love the forecast fast ground. I think she will put on a bold show," said Hayes.

Dazzling Park arrived on the plane carrying John Dunlop's Hong Kong Vase contender, Silver Patriarch. The latter will canter at Sha Tin today.

Meanwhile, Michael Kinane tasted big race success in Japan on Sunday aboard the favourite, Yamaka Suzuran, in the Hanshin Sansai Himba at Hanshin. Yamaka Suzuran made all the running in the Japanese Grade One race for juvenile fillies over a mile.

"It was a great performance by the filly. She sat on an easy lead and quickened up well when asked," he said.

Kinane also took part in the World Super Jockeys' Series, in which he had the dubious distinction of sharing last spot.

He now takes part in the International Jockeys' Championship at Happy Valley tomorrow. His mounts are The Baltic, Wonderful Winners and My Way.

Laffit Pincay edged closer to Willie Shoemaker's world record of 8,833 winners, following a further victory on Prototype at Hollywood Park on Sunday. Pincay, currently on the 8,831 mark, gets a further chance to smash the record at Hollywood tomorrow where he has seven rides.

England cricketer Michael Atherton has not had much luck in South Africa but he will be cheered by events at Fakenham yesterday where Golden Goal gained his first success on British soil in the Eastern Daily Press Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.
