Former St Patrick's centre-half from the 1950s and 1960s Dougie Boucher proved his skills weren't just confined to the soccer pitch. Competing in the Irish Professional Footballers Golfing Society, Boucher won the coveted Billy Behan matchplay trophy, where he defeated ex-Shamrock Rovers star Ronnie Nolan in the final.
Meanwhile, Tommy Murphy claimed the society's Golfer of the Year title in what was a very close-run contest, just pipping Noel Garland by a single point (107 to 106) over the season's events.
