An effortless winner on her only start at two, Bountiful Lady failed to land a blow on her only other public appearance earlier this month. But as that race was the Sagitta 1,000 Guineas, her effort in finishing 17th of 22 was no great disgrace for a filly so lacking in experience and with that run under her belt, she can bounce back to take the Group Three Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York today.
Her Newcastle success last season marked the daughter of Irish River as one to follow over middle distances this season, and she looked to have done well over the winter when seen in the paddock at Newmarket.
Willie Ryan did not give Bountiful Lady anything like a hard race when it became clear that they were not going to threaten the principals, and trainer Michael Stoute would never run one of his string if there were any doubts in his mind about their welfare.
Another horse expected to go well is Coulthard, the best bet of the day in the Yorkshire Life Magazine Stakes.
