Connacht coach Michael Bradley hopes his side's final Magners Celtic League game - until they travel to play the Ospreys on February 16th - will take them further ahead of Ulster at the bottom of the league table.
Tomorrow's clash against Llanelli Scarlets at the Sportsground will be a key encounter before getting back to the European Challenge Cup, and Bradley, with Heineken European Cup qualification ambitions still very much alive, is anxious that they chalk up a win.
"We go back into the Challenge Cup for a couple of games after this and then there is a break, so it would be nice to wrap up this section of Magners League games with a win," he said.
Connacht can expect a tough challenge from a Llanelli side that failed to make headway in the European Cup, where they were pooled with Munster, Wasps and Clermont Auvergne, but whose performance against Connacht last time out was impressive.
"Their focus now is probably on the Magners League. They're a very good side and were excellent last year but will be a little disappointed with their European form this season," added the coach. "They're the only side we didn't get close to in terms of the final scoreline this season and we know it's going to be a very tough encounter."
Bradley believes Connacht have shown that the potential is there to secure victories and looks to the home advantage as being crucial tomorrow evening.
"So far this year in the Magners League they've been the best side we've played by far and we respect them for the style of rugby they play but they're coming to our backyard, where we've performed well.
"We'll be concentrating on our own performance and if we perform to our potential then we will get something out of the game," he added.
