Minor Football Leinster Quarter-finals/Offaly 0-10 Westmeath 1-16: Offaly escaped from Cusack Park, Mullingar, on Saturday with a one-point victory over the home side.Westmeath failed to take advantage of having the wind at their backs during the first period, kicking nine wides and trailing at the break, 0-3 to 0-4.
Still, Westmeath looked to have claimed the crucial score 12 minutes into the second half when corner forward John Connellan hit the back of the Offaly net.
The visitors, though, immediately picked up the pace and, with just three minutes left, midfielder Ross Brady fired over the match-winning score from a free-kick.
Moments later, however, he was sent off, with Westmeath already down to 14 men at that stage - AJ Murray having received a second yellow card midway through the second period.
Offaly will now face Meath in the Leinster semi-final.
