Colleges Football Leinster SF A/Marist, Athlone 1-13 Moyne CS 0-11:Extra-time was required before Marist College eventually saw off Moyne CS in this Leinster football clash at Tubberclair yesterday.

A much improved second half and extra-time showing was enough to seal victory for the Athlone side, who had trailed by a single point at the interval following a turgid opening period.

But the game will be remembered for the disgraceful scenes which occurred at the end of extra-time, when players and substitutes from both sides became involved in a free-for-all brawl which took team mentors several minutes to diffuse.
