Drogheda U 0 Bray W 2:A TWO-GOAL salvo in the space of 15 second-half minutes saw Bray take three points to give them hope of catching Drogheda in what's developed into a two-horse race to avoid automatic relegation.
Drogheda could have been ahead in the second minute but for Bray goalkeeper Matt Gregg who raced from his line to get a block on John Flood’s shot. Peter McMahon then curled the ball just the wrong side of the post before calling Gregg into action again.
Bray should have hit the front on the half-hour mark when Seán Houston crossed for Shane O’Neill, whose header down into the turf sailed over the bar.
Bray scored after 55 minutes when John Mulroy ghosted through the defence before hitting his shot past Robert Duggan. It wasn’t long before they doubled their lead when Jake Kelly drove the ball to the net.
United’s night of woe continued when firstly Corie Treacy was sent off following a reckless challenge on Chris Shields and Eric McGill followed him when he was booked for a second time on the final whistle.
