What a fantastic fortnight it has been for Killorglin teenager Sinead Breen. After winning the Captain's Prize in her home club on a countback from twin sister Roisin, Sinead took the Class 2 honours in the last of the Regional Qualifiers of the Ford Ladies Strokeplay Championship played at Muskerry last Tuesday.
A 70 nett gave Sinead two shots to spare over Josette O'Donnell (Ballybunion) and it is her second time to qualify for the national finals which take place in a fortnight's time at Druids Glen.
The best score at Muskerry was a 68 from Class 3 winner Gillian Creahan who had extra motivation to reach the finals. She also qualified last year but missed the big day at Druids because she was on honeymoon.
A field of 60 will contest the finals over 18 holes of strokeplay with Ailish Mulcahy (Ross) back to defend the title she won last year.
