Brewster points way to victory

Fermanagh... 1-10 Sligo..

Fermanagh ... 1-10 Sligo ... 0-11: Tom Brewster gave a sublime exhibition of free-taking as Fermanagh sent Sligo tumbling to their fifth defeat at Markievicz Park yesterday.

Sligo started well with points from Dessie Sloyan, John McPartland and Eamonn O'Hara in the opening 10 minutes but two Brewster points and one from Ryan Keenan squared the match after 18 minutes. Brewster brought the visitors level again, 0-5 each, on the stroke of half-time. Ciarán Donnelly's goal for Fermanagh a minute into stoppage time put the visitors 1-5 to 0-6 ahead at the interval.

Sloyan's 67th-minute point from a free squared the game 0-11 to 1-8 and Sligo looked to be in with a great chance of victory.

When he was needed most up stepped Raymond Gallagher to edge his side ahead. A Brewster free three minutes into stoppage time clinched a hard-earned win for Fermanagh. Sligo's Seán Davey was sent off in the 65th minute..
