DUBLIN SFC SEMI-FINALS: St Brigid's 1-9, Plunketts/Ruadh 0-5:A DISCIPLINED defensive display helped St Brigid's cruise past near neighbours St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh by seven points in the Dublin SFC semi-final at Parnell Park on Saturday.

In a game lacking the intensity expected from a local derby, Ken Darcy showed great composure in gathering Eoin Sommerville’s poor kick-out to lob the stranded netminder from 30 metres for the game’s only goal on 14 minutes.

With Graham Norton, Sean Murray and Peadar Andrews in superb form in Brigid’s defence, the much heralded Plunkett’s attack struggled and St Brigid’s led led 1-2 to 0-3 at the interval.
