National League Cup Quarter-finals: Bohemians 3 Cork City 2 (AET - 2-2 after normal time)Bohemians booked their place in the semi-finals of the FAI Eircom League Cup when a dramatic extra-time header by defender Dessie Byrne earned them victory over Cork City in an enthralling quarter-final at Dalymount Park.

The game seemed certain to be heading to a penalty shoot-out until Byrne got in the decisive header after a cross by substitute Thomas Heary in the 117th minute.

Cork at last welcomed the arrival of the "FIFA Two" Colin Healy and Gareth Farrelly, while boss Damien Richardson also gave a debut to 24-year-old former Leicester City midfielder Leon McSweeney.

However, it was the home side who took the lead on five minutes when a corner by former Cork man Neale Fenn on the left allowed unmarked midfielder Stephen Rice to head home from six yards.

And Bohemians added a second goal on 20 minutes when Fenn's cross from the left allowed Dean Pooley to shot home from 12 yards.

Seán Kelly reduced the deficit for Cork four minutes later following a quick free by Neal Horgan in midfield that allowed midfielder Joe Gamble to open up a hesitant home defence. His perfect cross from the right enabled central defender Kelly to side-foot home from six yards.

Cork were level on 59 minutes when a powerful run down the right by McSweeney allowed the winger to send in a cross which Rice had the misfortune to head into his own net.

Both sides had chances in the 30 minutes of extra-time until Byrne grabbed the winner with that late, late header to break Cork hearts.

UCD are already in the semi-finals and last night were also joined by Derry City, who defeated Cobh Ramblers 2-1 at St Colman's Park, and Shamrock Rovers, who beat Athlone Town 1-0 at Tolka Park.
