RACING: The veteran One Won One bids for a hat-trick of victories in tonight's Glencairn Stakes at Leopardstown.
The Joanna Morgan-trained gelding has carved out half-length successes in the last two runnings of the Listed race and arrives on the back of an encouraging effort behind Miss Emma at Naas last time out.
Miss Emma has advertised that effort in the Greenlands Stakes since, and One Won One should be more at home over tonight's mile. Yet again, however, he has to concede weight all round, and the 107-rated mare Livadiya and One More Round are dangers.
Significantly, John Oxx drops Calorando back to a mile after a seasonal debut behind Black Sam Bellamy and, with the stable in form, this comparatively unexposed horse could be a threat to all.
Michael Kinane has picked wrong in a couple of juvenile races recently, but he is on Giant's Causeway's full brother Tumblebrutus in tonight's opener and should come out on top.
Kinane is also on Marannatha in the seven furlong handicap, and that one's trainer, Eamon Tyrell, scored with Mac Han at Naas on Monday.
Military Option looks better than his debut might suggest and is preferred to the 93-rated Kurbaan in the seven furlong maiden, while Patsy Veale could be a value alternative to Simply Honest in the Newtown Handicap.
Aidan O'Brien runs Kilcash Castle in the amateur race, but Royal Alphabet should be very hard to beat.
