Canada ended a disappointing World Cup campaign on a high note when they comfortably beat World Cup newcomers Namibia in Toulouse last night.
Canada's dominance was clear from the start as they scored four tries in the first half through Morgan Williams, Kyle Nichols, Al Charron and Rod Snow for a 31-6 interval lead. Nichols and Snow both touched down again in the second half while Winston Stanley scored twice and another came from Bobby Ross.
There was a sour note for Canada in the second half when flank Danny Baugh was sent off for stamping.
Veteran flyhalf Gareth Rees, the only man to have played in all four World Cups, again turned in an immaculate performance with the boot, converting all nine tries and adding three penalties for a personal tally of 27 points.
Namibia replied with a second half try by their captain Quinn Hough, while their other points came from two penalties by Leandre Van Dyke.
